My name is Harriet and my deed is something I hope to carry on for many years to come.
As part of international women’s week the Water Adventure Centre put on a canoeing event in a swimming baths usually the aquatics Centre. This year was my first year of helping out at the event and seeing how much confident it gives the women as they can try the sport in a women’s only space.
So my deed is to carry on this tradition to make sure other women get the chance to try a new sport as it has been proven that there are more males in sport than women. I also want to support other women to build up their own confidence and self-esteem in a safe space.
