Hello! I am a South West based Artist and this is an illustration of mine, called Knockout Nina.
My artwork has a feminine nature, largely inspired by trends from 20th Century design and fashion using mostly traditional techniques of drawing and watercolour painting. I am interested in how performers present themselves on stage and the rituals they undertake to transform; how performers of past eras presented themselves on stage and how that differs to the tragic lifestyles they often had off camera.
Some may mistake the imagery I create as the objectification of women, whereas in fact it is a celebration of strong female personas unafraid of their femininity.
