So here was my dilemma – the party invitation simply said ’come as your hero’. How on earth could I decide which kick-ass female to go as? Well my eventual choice didn’t fall to one individual instead I wanted to represent the fantastic Flappers of the Roaring 1920’s.
A new breed of feminism had come to the forefront in which women not only wanted political equality but social equality as well. Flappers embraced life, raised their hemlines (and quite a few eyebrows) and began to shape the new modern day women as we know ourselves to be today.
So to name just a few – Louise Brooks, Clara Bow, Lois Long and style goddess Coco Chanel may I say thank you ladies for blazing the trail on our behalf.
